How to write a report that actually gets action

2 August 2026 · guides, reporting

Start with the exact location

Link directly to the post, profile, server or experience — not the platform homepage. Moderators triage hundreds of reports a day and a vague link is the fastest way to be closed as "unable to verify".

Describe the harm, not your feelings

Say what rule the content breaks and who it puts at risk. "This game shows a gambling loop to under-13 players" is actionable. "This is disgusting" is not.

Attach evidence that survives deletion

Screenshots with visible usernames, timestamps and URLs are the strongest evidence. Upload them with your report so the community can review even after the original content disappears.

Use the official channel too

IAmModerator does not remove content. After your report gets community support, use the official reporting link on the report page so the platform receives it through their own pipeline.
