What community review means on IAmModerator

6 August 2026 · community, how-it-works

Anyone can be a moderator of the internet

Community review is the heart of the platform. When you open a report you can agree or disagree, and choose the action you think fits: remove, restrict, age-rate, review, or no action.

Why the action vote matters

Not all harmful content should be deleted. Some belongs behind an age gate, some just needs a warning label. Splitting the vote into stance and action gives platforms a much more useful signal than a raw upvote count.

Reputation follows accuracy

Reviewers who consistently vote in line with the final outcome build reputation. Reputation is not a popularity score — it reflects how often your judgement matched what actually happened.

Keep it safe

Never post personal information, never brigade, and never re-share the harmful content itself. Reports that do are removed and can lead to suspension.
